Hey y’all! Thanks so much for stopping by. My name is Laura and I served as an elementary school counselor for eight years in Nashville, TN. 97% of my precious students were living in poverty and 80% of them spoke a language other than English at home. I am bilingual and loved using my Spanish skills on a daily basis with my students and their families. It was one of the greatest joys of my life to work with this population who taught me each and every day why school counseling, SEL, and mental health MATTER.
I am wife to a loving husband, Jess, and mommy to two adorable little boys, Everett (born in 2016) and Finn (born in 2019). I am thankful to be spending this year at home loving on my boys. Everett and Finn keep me very busy, but in my free time, I am passionate about creating engaging, interactive, and meaningful resources for school counselors and teachers to use in their classrooms. As much as I miss my role as a school counselor, it makes my heart soar to know that my resources are helping and supporting students each day around the world, and saving educators’ valuable time! I still collaborate with practicing school counselors on a daily basis and make sure that the new resources I create are kid-tested, and kid-approved.
I hope that this website offers you helpful tips, advice, and resources to make your school counseling program all that you dream it to be. I learned a LOT in my eight years in public education and am thrilled to share my stories, experiences, tips, and advice with YOU. Please reach out to me any time with questions, suggestions, or resource requests – I am here for you! I look forward to getting to know you more!
